HEAR FROM OUR NURSES

The nurse residency program is an opportunity for newly graduated nurses to come together and talk about their mutual experiences. It also gives insight into different specialties and opportunities in the hospital setting.

- Taylor, BSN, RN, Nurse Residency graduate 2022, Medical Unit

Over the year of being in the residency program, I had a support system of peers, residency instructors and inter-professional colleagues. Looking back, this was a vital part of transitioning to a new nurse; it made a difference knowing I had a team of people ready to help me and be there for me when I needed them. I obtained confidence in my skills and had the opportunity to grow professionally through the clinical ladder and hospital-wide committees. I feel like the residency program helped me transition from a novice nurse to an advanced nurse by providing education and resources, communicating with peers in therapeutic small groups, and built my confidence from being in nursing school to transitioning in being a bedside nurse.

Reflecting this morning after having attended the 2022 ANCC Pathway Conference in Philadelphia where 11,000 fellow nurses attended. One of my biggest take away was how advanced Augusta Health nursing already is with professionalism, leadership, wellness, and growth. I listened to presenters from very large hospital systems with Magnet and Pathway designations and folks, we are already equal or above where they are. I am SO PROUD to be an Augusta Health nurse and as the conference attendees bring forward all that we have learned, you will see Augusta Health Nursing is Top Notch!!!

- Leslie, BSN, RN, Augusta Medical Group Gastroenterology

I am so grateful Augusta Health strives to support their nurses as they grow in their various roles within the organization. Through programs such as IGNITE, staff are empowered to explore new ways to expand their knowledge and expertise within their given profession. I am so thankful for the opportunity to share this experience with some of the brightest nurses at Augusta Health. The time invested into this program was well-spent, and I am thankful for the ways I have grown as a leader within our organization.

I am proud to work for an organization that takes pride in caring for members of the community, while also caring for our team! Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Augusta Health has proven once again that our focus is on the wellbeing of our community.
