Get ready to kick off Nurses Week in a glowing way! On May 4th, all units will be shining bright like Flo with glow sticks to light up the celebration. Join us as we illuminate the beginning of Nurses Week with a glow that honors your dedication and bright spirit!

Cinco De Mocktail
Enjoy a festive mocktail party to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style. Have a refreshing and relaxing Mocktail! Let’s toast to your hard work and dedication. All units will be delivered basic mocktail supplies ( juice, sprite, cups), feel free to add your own twist. Share your creative drinks on Facebook!
Movie Day
Join us as we commemorate Nurses Week and pay tribute to the rich history of nursing. Calling all nurses to participate in a special Movie Day/Night day complete with treats, movie tickets giveaways, and possibly other surprise giveaways! Put on your wackiest socks and prepare to embark on a thought-provoking cinematic journey. If you are at home, sit back, relax, and indulge in a selection of uplifting films that showcase the resilience, compassion, and dedication of nurses throughout the ages. Let’s applaud the touching and courageous tales of nurses from the past and present. Share your own inspiring journey into nursing during rounds. Visit participating units to see their decorations demonstrating nursing evolution over the years.

Join us for a special Shared Governance Take Over Day as we celebrate the power of collaboration and teamwork in healthcare! Wear your craziest headband and enjoy a variety of icecream and Kona ice (ambulatory areas) in the outpatient areas as you listen how Shared Governance is impactful at Augusta Health. Sit back and watch as our amazing nurses receive the Nurse Excellence Awards, Team Daisy recognition and many more. Let’s come together to make a difference and show our appreciation for the outstanding work done by our nursing team!
Prestine Pioneers: Honoring Nursing Legacy and Clinical Ladder Advancements! 👩⚕️🌟
Join us for Legacy and Clinical Ladder Day as we celebrate the incredible journey of nursing excellence. Wear white to symbolize unity and progress in our field, showcasing the accomplishments of 2023 clinical ladder advancements and honoring our legacy nurses with 25 years of dedicated service. Legacy nurses reaching milestones of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 47 years will be recognized with special lapel pins, highlighting their exceptional contributions. Don’t miss the opportunity for group photos to capture this momentous occasion!

Get ready to light up the unit with excitement, glow, and creativity as we celebrate Nurses Week with a Tie Dye and Paint Day like no other! Every department will be provided with tiles to paint, which will be collected to create a surprise masterpiece! Join us on May 9 from 6-8 PM in Mannix for a dazzling evening filled with creativity and fun! Don’t miss out on this magical opportunity to showcase your artistic talents and bond with your fellow nurses in a unique way! First 20 people pay $20 and $40 thereafter for the tumbler.
Positivity Influencer and Safety Award
Introducing the **Positivity Influencer Award** and the **Safety Award** – two fantastic opportunities for your department to recognize exceptional individuals who embody positivity and safety excellence within your team. These awards can be nominated by peers or picked by nursing leaders, allowing for a mix of surprise and peer appreciation.
Pet Therapy
Therapy Dogs throughout the week:
Special visit from Sam, on 5/9 from 10a-12 in the Atrium and 8-9 at Mannix and Atrium. Sam is a 22yo Miniature Horse. He has an extensive show record and has earned 5 world championship titles. He served as elementary school mascot for the Oak Ridge Colts before moving to Virginia. Sam has a very calm disposition and loves attention. He enjoyed making new friends and sharing smiles during his visit to Augusta Health in 2022 and is super excited about coming back for AH’s 2024 Nurse’s Week!
